So by reading the title you're probably inquiring what a covenant is; not only that what is a covenant in Jesus? Covenant is an agreement and or commitment. Covenants aren't talked about often but it is super important when it is regarding your relationship with Jesus. For example, would you have a house without a roof? NO! If you did than when it rained it would ruin all of your things.
Well, that is sort of like the covenant with Jesus. Our house or temple is our bodies and the covenant is Jesus. He is our cover so things don't ruin our bodies.
It is the relationship - the special, close, loving relationship between Jesus and His children. This description of the covenant is repeated, again and again, in the Old Testament (Covenant) when the covenant is made or confirmed with Israel. It appears in the significant prophecy of the new covenant Jerimiah 31:3 "I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah," Jehovah says; and then He adds, in virtual definition of the covenant, "and will be their God and they shall be My people."
Let me simplify Jeremiah 31:3 - God is pointing to you and Me saying, "MINE!" He claims us and makes us His own by the power of His grace, not by the resolve of our own souls. It is God that makes convents with us. We don't keep convents we smash them. He both makes the convent and keeps it.
God writes His teaching on our hearts so it's close to us. It's within reach. It's ours. Remember when the Law is written in cold hard stone? The new covenant isn't in a museum. Its written somewhere handy and nearby: our hearts.
Our God invites us to know Him with the sweetness of a parent and a child. He hasn't made His covenant a puzzle for us - He writes it simply and clearly. There's no secret to it.
He invites us to clarify and understanding so we can know Him and follow Him with delight.
He has written His covenant on our hearts, thereby making us fully His. We are so dear to Him.
Our covenant with Jesus is so precious. He is awaiting us to call Him Daddy. AHH!!!
My prayer is that we welcome Jesus in our hearts today.
Until Next Time,
