Don't Allow this world to make you hard!

Have you ever had a great morning, leave the house and as you are driving someone cuts you off, than Starbucks gets your order wrong, you leave your wallet home and now you believe that this is the worst day ever? How do you remain positive? Tell us please because after all that I would want to go back home and try the entire day over...lol

Positive means affirming, cheerful, exhilarating... used about someone or something showing positive behavior, attitudes etc... (dictionary.com). Not allowing others to take your joy and peace can be challenging so I'm going to share three biblical facts on not allowing this world to make you hard. Remain soft; and not soft as in weak but soft as in loving. In John 13:34

"A new commandment I give to you, that you should love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

First, in helping us apply loving each other is a way to remain positive knowing that Jesus loves us so much even when we don't always get it right so we can show that same love to others when they fall short of our expectations.

Second, believing the truth not lies. In Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things." In this scripture it's reminding us to think on truth. Lies places bitterness in us and truth places peace in us. By meditating on truth it places our mind back in the proper perspective on Jesus.

Lastly, In John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

Peace is ours. Jesus freely gives it to us and this is when we take a deep breath after that long day and remember that the peace that Jesus gives is enough to help when we choose being angry for our portion over joy.

In closing, remember that remaining positive is a choice. Even when we make the wrong choice like go in door A when door B is the door we believe we should go in that Jesus is always on the other side of each door ready to help us. He is our helper and like anything else we find ourselves struggling with we are never alone.
